In 2007 I bought a Suzuki DRZ400 to ride the TransAmerica Trail. It is an off road trail that starts in Jelico,Tennesse and goes to Port Orford,Oregon. I rode a little over 6000 miles from start to finish. That includes 250 miles riding from home to Jelico. And another 600 miles from Oregon to Oakland,California. I left the bike with a friend there, and picked it up later in the year.
Some of the views through Mississippi.
I had to find shelter in the town of Branson,Colorado. There was a fierce hail and lightning storm. It was so scary that I thought about breaking into the building that was semi sheltering me.
The best scenery of the trip was the mountains in Colorado, south of Ouray.
This is Black Bear Pass going in to Telluride,Colorado.
Black Bear Pass is steep and has a high cliff off the side.
This is Gemini Bridge in Moab,Utah.
This is what a lot of the trail looked like in Nevada. This is close to Battle Mountain,Nevada.
This is the end of the trail,Port Orford,Oregon.
I saw the Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox statues in Klamath,California while riding down to Oakland.
